WORLD WAR I

Official History of Australia in the War of 1914-1918 The Australian War Memorial provides access to this digitised set of books. Each volume contains chapters which can be downloaded separately as pdfs. These resources were originally published in 1941.

War Diaries This link is to a digitised collection of War Diaries on the Australian War Memorial website. 

Captain Francis Coen (SIC 1900-02)  The State Library of NSW provides digitised letters from Frank Coen, a Riverview old boy who paid the ultimate price when he was killed in action at Pozieres on the Western Front.

AUSTRALIAN LIGHT HORSE

1st Australian Light Horse Regiment This resource by the Australian War Memorial provides details on the 1st Australian Light Horse Regiment. Follow the links to further information on related events, battle honours and commanding officers. 

The Australian Light Horse Association This is the website of The Australian Light Horse Association, a non-profit organisation whose aim is to preserve the history and tradition of the Australian Light Horse and its predecessors.

The Raws Brothers Alec and 'Goldy' Raws, brothers and lieutenants in 2nd Division experienced the horrors of Pozieres. Alec's letters came to be regarded as 'some of the most honest, insightful and horribly graphic accounts of the experiences of Pozieres.
