Biography & Bibliography

Since her family moved around so much she found familiarity in books and was an avid reader. She went to high school in Los Angeles where she began writing stories. After college, she lived in Los Angeles and New York, working for entertainment magazines and tabloids.

Cassandra Claire was the pen name she used when she began writing fanfiction. The Draco Trilogy, based on Harry Potter and The Very Secret Diaries, based on The Lord of the Rings were popular. However, she deleted her fanfiction from the internet prior to the release of her debut novel, The City of Bones under the name Cassandra Clare.
