As part of Book Week celebrations the Christopher Brennan Library is participating in a charitable initiative, South Sudan Book Drive. This initiative is in conjunction with Patrick's Stevedores and Brookfield Investments, who aim to send a 20 foot container of books to South Sudan.
The Student Office, along with the CBL will be collecting books - textbooks, children's books, fiction books, information books, . . . . any book that is still in good reading condition will be greatly received.
Students are to use the online catalogue to track the locations of the books in the Scavenger Hunt - the theme is Escape to Everywhere!
Find stamps at each checkpoint and stamp your passport. Once all 12 stamps have been collected, swap your passport for a CHUPA CHUP and a BOOKMARK.
All valid entries go in the draw for a major prize.
Build a Story Quilt
Students from the SIEP unit will listen to a reading of The Patchwork Bike by Maxine Beneba Clake. Students will draw their response to the story on squares of paper which will be placed together to form a patchwork story quilt for display in the library.
