Christopher Brennan Library Old: Book Trailers

Book trailers can vary considerably in how they are produced. Some are fully scripted mini-movies and others are very simple. The one thing they all share in common is a desire to introduce the book, and convert viewers of the trailer into readers of the book.

Create a book trailer, thirty to ninety seconds in duration, of a book you have read this year.

Suggested tools to use are iMovie, Animoto, Biteable or Powtoon. However, you may use another suitable application.

Email your book trailer to snrlibrary@riverview.nsw.edu by the beginning of Term 4. Prizes will be awarded to winning entries. 

Consider the following:

• genre or tone of the book (adventure, sci-fi, scary, futuristic, suspenseful, etc.)
• set the mood and convey the 'feeling' of the book
• have a hook for the audience - get people excited about the book
• don't have too much text
• focus on the concept behind the story, and not the details
• music and sounds
