Hans Rosling (1948 - 2017) from Uppsala, Sweden. Rosling was a Swedish physician and statistican who presented his collection of statistics using computer software, props and showmanship to illustrate and highlight his findings.
He became a Youtube star after he presented at a 2006 TED conference with his presentation, 'The Best Stats You've Ever Seen'.
In 2005, Rosling cofounded Gapminder , a foundation that seeks to place facts and statistics in the service of sustainable global development. The organization’s first project was the development of Trendalyzer software to convert statistics over time into animated graphics that made them easy to grasp. (The software was acquired by Google in 2007.)
'Factfullness: Ten Reasons we are wrong about the world' was published posthumously in 2018.
